Hi,

This is my first blog!! So whats going on? All of you working hard to achieve your goals, having a thirst to prove yourself to the world eh? Want to make your parents proud, impress your girlfriends/boyfriends and of course you wanna be a respected member of society with all luxuries in the world I suppose??

Into my semester Holidays. Coincidentally the first day of my holiday was a Sunday, and Sunday means Cricket. All the guys usually make it a point to play on Sundays. The joy of playing cricket is just awesome. The feel of smacking a ball, the satisfaction of knocking out a batsman, the thrill of running to the other end of the wicket and still survive the run out appeal and of course the arguments and heated fights (we forget ourselves when it cums to cricket).

But recently the passion for the game seems to have fizzed out a bit with the colony guys. Maybe its too much cricket or maybe its just that there are better things to attend to like sleeping into the afternoons on a Sunday. Whatever be the reason the colony guys weren't that particular this Sunday. That was harsh, after all it was the first day of my holidays. To make matters worse I was wide awake by 5am itself!!

Had it been any other Sunday i would've got up only by 7. The previous week was very hectic, had to get up early for the quick revisions on the mornings of the exams. So my mind had got used to getting up early i suppose. God, it was so boring. No cricket to look  forward to either. Then I heard sounds in the ground nearby. Few trainees staying near my home were making their way to the ground for a game of Cricket!! Now that was great news. I rushed to the ground and asked if I could join them. It was really nice of them to allow me play to along with them.

But it turned out to be such an anti climax. I got only one over to bowl, didn't get a chance to bat either. It was really crappy to be truthful. But there were few things which was very noticeable. I was playing with a lot of intensity (thankfully they allowed me to field at least). I really doubt if i would've played the same way with the colony guys. I understood, there was a thirst within to prove myself to unknown ppl.

R v going overboard having only our progress and achievements in mind and forgetting the real issues that need to be addressed?? All of us want to clearly know how we are perceived by the society. All these social networks are giving a perfect platform for that particular requirement of ours. Few claim to  use facebook only to stay in contact with people. I think its just an eye wash. To be truthful each tym i log on to fb i'm always eager to see the number of  likes and comments i receive for my wall posts. Before any of u wanna say anything, let me make it clear that my opinion may not be correct. But c'mon, its a free world and everyone has a right to have an opinion.

So what is the REAL issue? How about global warming? Oh no don't dish out the same old thing pls will be the reaction by most of us. The heat in Chennai is becoming unbearable. So what ought to be done? Any school going kid will know that trees ought to be planted. Hey the better option would be to buy an AC and be done with it. Y should anyone care what the outside temperature is. Our homes are cool, so the matter is settled.

BUT the thing is that for any electric appliance to work we need electricity. There is a serious power crisis. So what needs to be done? We as an individual can do our bit to conserve power, and maybe push the government towards non conventional energy sources. But an easier way out is to buy a power back up and be happy. Now the power cut wont be that much of an impact.

We have developed a really terrible habit of tolerance and compromise. We have started to tolerate almost anything & everything. Y should we compromise with poor quality. Y s it that no one is accountable. We have to realize no one is running any charity. All of us entitled to get the best.

So the first step I feel is to maybe cum out with our opinions and blast ppl who v feel are standing in the way of us getting the best. One cant assure that the actions will be taken immediately. But at least we would have started becoming in-tolerant and non adjusting to all the crap in our society today. Instead of cribbing inside the four walls of our homes, coming out with the problems will at least give us a way to let out our emotions....
